About TripSem
Who makes it
Hello — I'm the dad of "Hotteok", our baby who is about to be born.
Counting them up, I've made 26 trips to 22 cities: Nagoya, Hanoi, Nha Trang, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Penang, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Budapest, Prague, Frankfurt, Moscow, Vladivostok, Minsk, Tbilisi, Kazbegi, Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Los Angeles and Detroit. I went to Malaysia seven times, like collecting stamps — not because I love the country in particular; it just happened that way.
Some trips were solo, some were for work with a performance team. On a one-week work trip I'd get maybe five days to wander, and I took every gap to go outside, gear and all. Packing, budgeting and working out phone costs abroad slowly turned into my specialty.
Right now I can't leave home — the little one is arriving soon. So I'm building this instead. Honestly, it's mostly to scratch my own travel itch: if I can't fly, I can at least punch numbers. And if even one person gets a clear answer from them, it feels a bit like we're on the same plane.
The Korean site helps Koreans going abroad. This English edition turns it around: the same idea — answer number questions with numbers — for people coming to Korea.
